Dr. Virginia Haisten
Dr. Virginia Haisten, Director of Music Ministries, has been on the staff at St. George’s since 1997 where she directs all choirs and instrumental groups and serves as organist. Dr. Haisten holds degrees in organ performance and music theory from Salem College, the Eastman School of Music, and Stanford University.
She has been a featured musician at Los Angeles Diocesan Conventions, Clergy Conferences, and for the ordinations of Deacons and Priests. She served as accompanist for the Los Angeles Diocesan Children’s Choir in which her choristers also participated at the 76th General Convention in Anaheim and for the installation of Bishops Diane Jardine Bruce and Mary Glasspool. She has been a featured recitalist throughout the United States, Great Britain, and France and played a series of eleven recitals on eight different organs for Celebrate Faith and Arts Atlanta during the 1996 Olympics. Her editions on the works of Margaret Vardell Sandresky are published by Wayne Leupold Editions.
